The piece is created by compressing flour within a white pedestal. Embossed on the surface of the flour is an image comprised of half-tone semi-spheres originating from an object. The surface image is a fragment of a complete object which has been removed from its original source countless times through various forms of translations. Each variation becomes a new language and in turn displaces it from the previous idea. The form that is left is a new object that is likely to be retranslated again through the act of interpretation.
